    Dr. Chan Hee Lee is a professor of the Department of Cultural Heritage Conservation Sciences at Kongju National University and President of the Korean Society of Economic and Environmental Geology in Republic of Korea. Prof. Lee served as the Dean of Natural Science College and Graduate School of Cultural Heritage in Kongju National University, and President of the Korean Society of Cultural Heritage Conservation Sciences. Currently, he is a Committee Member of the Cultural Heritage Preservation Division of International Rock Mechanics Society and ICOMOS-ISCS Voting Member. The main research topic is stability evaluation and conservation technology for stone cultural heritages.

    Kyoung-Woong Kim received his Ph.D. from the Imperial College London in the U.K. He is a Professor of Environmental Geochemistry at School of Earth Sciences and Environmental Engineering since 1997 and Director of International Environmental Research Institute (IERI) at Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) in Republic of Korea. He is interested in the remediation of contaminated soil/groundwater and has donated many GDM (Gravity Driven Membrane) water filtration systems. Prof. Kim has got more than 220 papers at the international SCI journals and received numerous awards such as Prime Minister Commendation for Scientific Achievement. He is currently editorial board member at several international journals including Scientific Reports and Environ. Geochem. & Health.

    Professor Eunnyeong Heo joined Seoul National University as a faculty in 1996, teaching resource economics and technology economics. He has served as a member of many government committees such as Committee on the 4th Industrial Revolution, National Committee on Green Growth, National Economic Advisory Council, and PyeongChang Organizing Committee for the 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
    He is currently the president of the Korean Resource Economics Association, the president of the Korea Society of Innovation, vice president of the Korean Society for New and Renewable Energy and also vice president of the Korean Society of Mineral and Energy Resources Engineering

    I started my official career in the Ministry of Construction and Transportation in 2002 and worked in the fields of aviation, logistics and real estate development. And I am currently working in the Urban Regeneration Planning Office. When the New Deal was introduced in 2017, I provided guidelines for the project and selected 68 pilot projects. And I’m now in charge of the largest urban economic regeneration and innovative district projects. I believe that participants of public governance companies and private investment are important in urban regeneration, and I am working hard for this.

    I am still pursuing better life of the people living in the local abandoned mine area where I have been participating as a coal miner in 20s, an activist for local welfare movement in 30s, and an officer of Kangwon Land Inc. since 40 something. Watching shutdown of local coal mines and birth of Special Act on Support for the Development of Abandoned Mines. I am in charge of Director of Corporate Social Value Office of Kangwon Land Inc. followed by various corporate social responsibility duties like Director of Corporate Social Responsibility Office, Secretary General of Kangwon Land Addiction Control Center, Director of Regional Corporation Office, and Secretary General of Corporate Social Responsibility Committee of the company.

    Now I am seriously researching the transformation into social value creation business of my company based on innovation. My up-to-date concerns are local town revitalization, Ashoka Fellow, and attracting unicorn companies while alerting myself it is not easy to realize them.

He received Ph.D. And M.S. in meteorology at Iowa State University and worked as Research Associate in the University of Maryland College Park. From 2010 to 2016, he worked as Scietist in the Pacific Northwest National Laboraotry. He is a part of research team developing new climate models in the US DOE. Also, he is working as a Lead Author in the IPCC AR6.

    Professor Yi Kyun Kwon is an expert in sedimentology and stratigraphy, especially in the field of petroleum geology and carbon capture and storage. He had carried out researches on unconventional hydrocarbon resources and carbon storage in the Korea Institute of Geoscience and Mineral Resources from 2001 to 21012, and he is now putting much effort into demonstration of carbon dioxide capture and storage technology in the Kongju National University. In addition, a geological research on basin evolution of the ancient sedimentary basins in the Korean peninsula has been an important topic in his research career.

    Deputy Director Kim Soolo is a professional engineer (P.E.) in charge of technology development at the Korea Mine Reclamation Corporation (MIRECO). After joining MIRECO in 2008, he has mainly developed practical technologies for ground subsidence prevention. Recently, MIRECO EYE technology developed. MIRECO EYE that named after the company, is an underground cavity measurement technology, and received new technology certification (NET) from the government. Now, MIRECO EYE is expanding its scope of use beyond mining industry to survey road sinkholes or national port facilities, to survey underground facility safety and military security purposes. MIRECO EYE has been valued as 2019 K-Safety Award Grand prize of the Year. Deputy Director Kim Soolo is actively working as a mine reclamation engineer and a geotechnics expert in Korea.

    Prof. Youngjune Park is an associate Professor in the School of Earth Sciences and Environmental Engineering, GIST. He graduated with a Ph.D. from KAIST in 2009. After then, he joined the research group of Prof. Alissa Park at the Columbia University in the City of New York as a postdoctoral research scientist, where he carried out researches focusing on CCUS technologies. From 2012 to 2015, he worked at SK Innovation Co., Ltd. serving as a senior researcher. He joined the faculty at GIST in 2015. His research group is working on carbon mineralization technology for CO2 storage and utilization via industrial by-products such as steel-making slag, coal ash, and cement kiln dust.

Gangwon Province has 82% forest, the trees are releasing monoterpenes as a healing substance. We are working with the Gangwon Regional Meteorological Administration, and other collaborative government offices. That result, our team made a “monoterpenes maps” of Korea in 2019, using the related equation between monoterpenes and weather.

She has dreamed of a future in which people live a sustainable and liveable life. She is working towards eco-friendly behavior because she has realized that climate change is a factor that strengthens social inequality and is a key factor in solving it. Among them, she is interested in sharing the core of eco-friendly behavior, pointing out the paradox of eco-friendly consumption.

    Park So-young (SO YOUNG PARK) is enrolled in Kangwon National University of Eco-Environmental Science major and currently working to announce the seriousness of the climate crisis and improvement through forests as the fifth term of Coalition for Our Common Future Climate Scouts. I think recognizing the seriousness of the current climate crisis is the starting point for overcoming it, so I have been making card news to emphasize the practice in life to improve the climate crisis. Beyond climate change, I thought forests as carbon sinks had infinite possibilities in the climate crisis era, and contributed articles suggesting the value of forests in the climate crisis era and the importance of sustainable forest management. Recently, I am interested in preserving marine ecosystems that are more sensitive to climate change than on land.

He works for localizing SDGs with research in the field of governance for sustainable development. Also, he is members of Local Committee for Sustainable Development for the local governments such as Jongo-gu, Gangbuk-gu, Bupyeong-gu, and Chungcheongnam-do. He is co-author of several books including Administration for Environment, Success Model for Local Governance, Our Sustainable Cities, and Collaborative Governance in Korea. And he translated several English books into Korean such as Local Sustainability 2012: Showcasing Progress – Case Studies, Governing by Network, Is Sustainability Still Possible?, and The Sustainability Revolution.

    Dr. Man-Sig Jun is senior research fellow of the department of planning & management at Research Institute for Gangwon (RIG). He has studied over 30 years as focusing on various water related issues such as water resource policy, water environment management, and aquatic ecosystem. He also has joined various research projects which studied on turbid water problems in agricultural areas, aquatic ecosystem preservation, water shortage problems by drought, and water related issues in reservoirs. He contributed greatly to policy making process for domestic water use in the local community. Currently, he is interested in researches on fairness for water use and distribution between up & down stream watersheds.
